Richard Ou (Yuhuang Ou) joined the King’s Business Club in the Spring of 2019 as the newly created Technical Officer. This position was created as part of the then President-Elect’s rebranding initiative that would see the rebranding of the Society from KCL Business Club (KCLBC) to simply King’s Business Club (KBC).
By the end of summer, a new website was developed and launched for the Society, but much work had to be done to restore the website’s former position across search engines. With the developing responsibilities, the role of Head of Marketing was subsequently established as the number of Marketing Officers grew from two to four.
Serving as the Head of Marketing, Richard built upon the past successes of the King’s Business Club. A range of objectives and strategies were developed and executed during his tenure. This ensured the cementation of the Society’s legacy and the contributions of its former committee members.
By the end of the 2020 purdah, he was elected as the succeeding President by an appointment process observed by the Executive committee. Work has already commenced during the interregnum in preparation for the 2020 academic year.
