We are delighted to be hosting a special online event with Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs, a world-renowned Economist, foremost expert and leader in sustainable development, macroeconomics and the fight against poverty, Senior UN Advisor, bestselling author, and syndicated columnist whose monthly newspaper columns appear in more than 145 countries. He has been recognised by TIME as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World twice and won the Blue Planet Prize, the leading global prize for environmental leadership and first World Sustainability Award amongst many other awards and over 28 honorary degrees. He will be discussing some very fascinating topical issues around “The Reshaping of the Global Economy & Politics by the Pandemic” as well as answering your questions. Brought to you by King’s Business Club, the Oxford Guild, Cambridge Guild, Imperial Finance Society, Warwick Finance Societies and other leading university societies, the event is 100% FREE and open to all and supported by The Oxford Foundry.
Sachs has been described by The New York Times as “probably the most important economist in the world,” and by TIME as “the world’s best-known economist.” A survey by The Economist ranked Sachs as among the three most influential living economists. He has been a Special Advisor to the UN Secretary General from 2001 to 2018, including most recently around the UN SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).
Over the past 30 years he has advised dozens of heads of state and governments on economic policy and strategy worldwide, and has previously been a Senior Advisor to the WHO, World Bank, IMF, OECD, the Pope and many others. This will undoubtedly be a fascinating event and will give you the chance to hear from and ask questions of such an interesting and truly high profile guest. We highly recommend you do not miss out so please join us by registering below – we will send those who register the link for the online event.
